Manuscript & Art Portfolio Consultations (optional):

SCBWI members who preregister and prepay can pay $40 for a 12-minute critique with one of the conference faculty. All manuscript and portfolio critiques are on Saturday.

For manuscripts, send fee and a manuscript that adheres to the manuscript guidelines below. For art, send fee only and bring portfolio to the conference. DO NOT mail your portfolio. Include a range that shows your best work.

Consultation times will be posted at registration. Conference faculty will conduct critiques. There is no guarantee of a specific publishing professional. Please, don't request a specific person.

Please follow these rules carefully for manuscripts: Send a fiction or nonfiction manuscript of 1 picture book, short story, or set of poems, with a maximum of 13 pages. For novels, you may add a synopsis of up to 2 pages. Submissions over 15 pages will have only the first 15 pages included. Several short manuscripts MAY NOT be combined to reach the total number of pages. All pages should be properly formatted (SCBWI's "From Keyboard to Printed Page" at scbwi.org's "Publications"). Mss will be returned during consultations. Don't include SASE.

Space is limited. The conference committee will assign appointments. No refunds (if assigned an appointment), and no exceptions to the rules.

Mail manuscripts to:

Arkansas SCBWI
P.O. Box 94109
North Little Rock, AR 72190

March 16 is the deadline to sign-up for both manuscript and portfolio critiques.
